Through the AHEGGA platform, the Festival empowers 41,300 Heritage Envoys—100 from each of the region’s 413 local government areas—to champion the UN Sustainable Development Goals. These youth and women ambassadors amplify AREWA ’s cultural voice on global platforms, advocating for climate action, gender equity, peacebuilding, and sustainable livelihoods. By connecting heritage leadership with global goals, the Festival ensures that AREWA ’s youth are both local custodians and global citizens, linking grassroots realities to international commitments.
